FAIRsharing

Overview

FAIRsharing is a curated registry of data standards, databases and repositories, and data policies, hosted at the University of Oxford and developed as part of the ELIXIR UK node. Originally launched in 2011 as BioSharing, it was rebranded as FAIRsharing in 2017. It provides structured, interlinked descriptions of standards (file formats, terminologies, and reporting guidelines), repositories (generalist and domain-specific), and the policies of journals and funders that mandate their use. FAIRsharing supports FAIR data practices by making the landscape of standards and repositories discoverable and interconnected. It is an ELIXIR Recommended Interoperability Resource and integrates with data management planning tools including the Data Stewardship Wizard deployed by IFB.
