LONI IDA — Image and Data Archive

Overview

The LONI Image and Data Archive (IDA) is a secure neuroimaging data repository operated by the USC Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute (USC INI) at the University of Southern California. Established to support large-scale multisite neuroimaging studies, it provides controlled-access storage, curation, and distribution of clinical neuroimaging and biomarker datasets, with access governed by data use agreements reviewed for each study. It serves as the access platform for ADNI (Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative) and hosts a range of other open and controlled-access neuroimaging cohorts covering neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric conditions.

Hosted Studies

Beyond ADNI, the IDA hosts studies including PPMI (Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative), ABIDE (Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange), ADHD-200, OpenPain, and a number of smaller investigator-initiated neuroimaging cohorts. Each study maintains its own data use agreement terms, and access is managed through a unified registration and application process on the IDA portal.
