ANC — Austrian NeuroCloud

Overview

The Austrian NeuroCloud (ANC) is a FAIR-enabling open repository for neurocognitive research data, operated by an interdisciplinary team at the University of Salzburg and connected across major Austrian research institutions. Established in 2020 with funding from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) and the State of Salzburg, it provides secure data storage, curation, and FAIR-aligned management for cognitive neuroscience datasets spanning behaviour, neuroimaging, and electrophysiology. The ANC is registered on re3data (r3d100014355) and is an EOSC-compliant repository that participated in FAIR-IMPACT prototype testing for trustworthy data repositories. As of 2025 it is the first official European node in the Neurobagel federated data discovery network.

Services

Data deposit is supported for any neurocognitive research dataset conforming to BIDS, with automatic validation on submission. HED tags are supported for structured event annotation. Deposited datasets receive a DOI and are discoverable through the ANC Knowledge Graph interface and via Neurobagel federated search, enabling cross-repository dataset discovery alongside other Neurobagel nodes. A self-deposit pathway and a curated deposit pathway (with data stewardship support) are both available.
