FAIR-Checker
Overview
FAIR-Checker is an online tool for assessing the FAIRness of web-accessible research resources, developed and operated by IFB (ELIXIR-FR). It uses Semantic Web technologies to evaluate resources against FAIR Principles metrics, checking metadata presence, structure, and interoperability against recognised ontologies and controlled vocabularies. Researchers and data stewards submit a URL or DOI to receive an instant scored assessment identifying specific areas for improvement, without any prior installation. FAIR-Checker is part of the ELIXIR-FR Service Delivery Plan and is registered as an ELIXIR service; it aligns with the RDA FAIR data maturity model. As of 2024, the tool processes approximately 115,000 FAIR metric evaluations per month.
