MPI CBS — Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences
Overview
The Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (MPI CBS) in Leipzig is a research institute of the Max Planck Society, formed in 2004 through the merger of the Max Planck Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience Leipzig and the Max Planck Institute for Psychological Research Munich. Its research covers the neural bases of human cognition, language, emotion, social interaction, and movement, with a strong emphasis on high-field MRI methodology development. MPI CBS is a consistent producer of openly shared neuroimaging datasets, including the MPI-Leipzig Mind-Brain-Body dataset, a 227-participant multimodal MRI dataset available in BIDS format on OpenNeuro, and participates in the broader open neuroimaging community through methods development and open tooling.
