C-BIG — Clinical Biospecimen Imaging and Genetic Repository

Overview

C-BIG (Clinical Biospecimen Imaging and Genetic Repository) is the institutional open science data repository of the Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (The Neuro) at McGill University, collecting clinical, neuroimaging, genomic, and biospecimen data from patients with neurological diseases and healthy controls. It was developed following The Neuro’s declaration as an Open Science institution in January 2016, launched internally in 2019, and made publicly accessible in November 2020 via LORIS. It integrates multimodal datasets from across The Neuro’s research programmes into a single queryable platform.

Access

C-BIG operates two access tiers. The open data tier provides unrestricted reuse with no registration. The registered access tier requires a data access agreement for datasets with additional consent or privacy conditions. Both tiers are accessible via the C-BIG portal at cbigr-open.loris.ca.
