CIMBI — Center for Integrated Molecular Brain Imaging

Overview

CIMBI is a Copenhagen-based multimodal database and biobank combining structural and functional MRI, PET, genetic, biochemical, and clinical data from healthy volunteers and patients with neuropsychiatric disorders. It was established in 2008 as a collaboration between the Neurobiology Research Unit at Copenhagen University Hospital and the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology at the University of Copenhagen, initially funded by the Lundbeck Foundation. Its data are of particular relevance to the serotonergic transmitter system, with normative PET data on serotonin receptor subtypes and the serotonin transporter contributed across projects since 2000. Access to data and biospecimens is granted on request under Danish Data Protection Agency oversight, with all use logged and controlled.

  • Biobank specimens (blood, and in some cases saliva): from ~500 healthy volunteers and ~300 patients
