OpenSesame

Overview

OpenSesame is an open-source graphical experiment builder for cognitive psychology and neuroscience, providing a visual drag-and-drop interface for creating timing-accurate behavioural studies without requiring programming knowledge. It supports a wide range of hardware inputs and paradigm types, from reaction time and eye-tracking tasks to questionnaire and training protocols. OSWeb, its browser-based runtime component, enables the same experiments to run as online studies in any modern browser. When combined with JATOS, OSWeb provides a fully open-source pipeline from experiment design through online deployment, data collection, and export. OpenSesame is one of the primary experiment creation tools used with JATOS for online behavioural research.
