de.NBI — German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure

Overview

de.NBI (German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure) is the German national bioinformatics infrastructure and the German national node of ELIXIR (ELIXIR-DE). Established in 2015 with funding from the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), de.NBI operates through eight specialised service centres distributed across German universities and research institutes, providing bioinformatics compute resources, cloud infrastructure, data analysis services, training, and FAIR data management support to the German life sciences research community. The Freiburg Galaxy team, part of de.NBI, co-operates usegalaxy.eu — one of Europe’s largest Galaxy instances for reproducible bioinformatics workflows — alongside ELIXIR partners. de.NBI contributes to the ELIXIR Tools Registry (bio.tools) and the ELIXIR TeSS training portal, and its service centres participate across multiple NFDI thematic consortia.
