NERF — Neuro-Electronics Research Flanders
Overview
Neuro-Electronics Research Flanders is an independent academic research centre in Leuven, founded in 2011 by imec, KU Leuven, and VIB, best known for co-developing the Neuropixels probe series: high-density silicon electrophysiology probes now used in over 400 labs globally whose datasets are deposited to DANDI Archive in NWB format. NERF studies neuronal circuit architecture and function using electrophysiology, imaging, and optogenetics, and has also co-developed the open-source functional ultrasound platform OpenfUS.
