ENIGMA Consortium
Overview
ENIGMA conducts coordinated neuroimaging and genetics studies across 45+ working groups and hundreds of sites using federated meta-analysis: sites share derived statistics rather than raw data, enabling population-scale power while preserving privacy.
Key Outputs
- Over 200 publications on brain structure in psychiatric and neurological disorders have been produced across ENIGMA working groups.
- The ENIGMA Toolbox is an open-source toolset for surface-based neuroimaging analysis and contextualisation of findings against ENIGMA normative data.
- ENIGMA maintains harmonised MRI acquisition protocols and standardised processing pipelines for use across contributing sites.
Connections
- relatedTo: ADNI (ADNI data used across multiple ENIGMA working groups)
- relatedTo: UK Biobank (large-scale imaging-genetics resource used in ENIGMA analyses)
- relatedTo: Human Connectome Project (HCP atlas used for ENIGMA surface-based analyses)
